Beginning of the adventure Haibike
The brand was launched in 1995 by Felix and Susanne Puello. The latter was then CEO of Winora Group - one of the world's largest bicycle distributors, spun off from the Engelbert Wiener company founded by her great-grandfather. Bikes were initially sold under the Winora parent brand name, but were soon renamed Haibike. In the years that followed, the brand pursued its technological development and expanded its range.
World's first electric mountain bike
The forerunner of the electric mountain bike, the HaibikeeQ XDurois unveiled at Eurobike 2010. It was an instant success. The inverted engine concept and initial styling will be copied many times over. The original range comprises four models (Fully, Hardtail, Cross & Trekking).
In the wake, Haibike is the first manufacturer in the world to introduce gravity-molding technology. This process, which originated in the motorcycle industry, makes it possible to produce complex parts and components that are particularly strong and precise, while remaining lightweight. The main application of this technology is in the engine suspension, the heart of the frame. Since then, this technology has been used by many competitors.
Development of the range
The range is expanded to eleven models, with additional variants. Among the models is the eQ XDuro 29, an electric mountain bike that combines two major trends: 29-inch wheels and EAB. At Eurobike 2011, Haibike presents the XDuro Racethe result of research into the design of a fast electric racing bike. Favorable feedback from experts and professionals, plus positive test rides, lead to Haibike to develop a mass-produced electric racing bike for the 2014 season, marking the start of a new category of fast road bikes.
First AllMountain EAB
and first Speed-bike
The range has grown to include 17 models, including the first electric AllMountain, which, with its 150 mm travel, paves the way for the future trend of high-travel e-bikes.
For the first time ever, Haibike also presents a fast 45km/h VAE, the XDuro Trekking S. The "eQ" particle disappears, and the name "XDuro", a word-valise formed from X-Cross & Enduro, becomes the sole model name.
Haibike introduces the motor shoe
Haibike presents a completely revamped range. With 37 models and numerous innovations: a new motorization, an all-new aluminum platform, the double bend in the top tube, the angled positioning of the shock absorber and the motor shoe. This component protects the motor from damage and scratches. Unlike early XDuro models, where the motor was integrated into the frame upside down, the new motor is mounted underneath the frame and would be unprotected without it. Subsequently, more and more brands adopted the motor shoe, which gradually became the hallmark of sporty VTTAEs.
First electric enduro
in history
The same year saw the launch of an electric bike that was to revolutionize the market: the XDuro Nduro. With its 180 mm travel, it opened the way for young sports enthusiasts to a new audience.
2013 also saw the launch of Road models, transposing the XDuro philosophy to the road. The result is the XDuro Racethe first mass-produced electric racing bike, and the Superrace, a fast electric racer.
Presentation of the Haibike SDuro
The XDuro now has a little brother: the HaibikeSDurowith a new Yamaha powertrain, presented exclusively by Haibike. The SDurowas an immediate success, making it Yamaha's second most popular engine.
2014 also marks the arrival of the first electric ATV with electronic suspension management and the first electric all-suspension carbon with a central motor.
First electric DH bike
With the XDuro Dwnhll Pro, Haibike presents a DH bike equipped with a powerful motor, enabling the previously unthinkable: a true downhill bike that the rider can ride just as well, without a lift or shuttle. All barriers are removed, opening up an unprecedented playground.
Launch of the eConnect system
With eConnect, Haibike connects electric mountain bikes and offers previously unseen digital opportunities. A small unit integrated into the bike transmits and receives data, enabling GPS anti-theft monitoring, bike geolocation, route recording and data export, among other functions. All information is displayed and managed via a special application. Haibike is the first to pave the way for intelligent bicycles.
That same year, the brand designed its own stem, integrating the screen to ensure clean lines and optimum protection in the event of a fall.
Introducing the Modular Rail System (MRS)
and the InTube Battery concept
The Modular Rail System (MRS) makes it quick and easy to install a variety of accessories directly on the bike. A mounting rail is integrated into the downtube to place a water bottle or pannier, for example, in the ideal place.
The Integrated Battery Concept (IBC), available on many models in the range, offers a new level of integration, aesthetics and functionality.
Concept launch FLYON
Haibike turns a corner in 2019 with the introduction of a complete system comprising frame, motor and battery, for an unprecedented level of integration and high-end performance.
Named FLYONthis concept can be found in XDuro NDuro, AllMtn, AllTrail, Adventr.

The brand has also surrounded itself with extraordinary personalities, all of whom have been won over by its electric models. Freeriders, rescue riders and adventurers, the richness of their profiles is as valuable as their experience.
As true pioneers, they have each pushed the limits of their machines and contributed to the recognition of a simple sport as a sport in its own right.
Sam Pilgrim
Accompanied by his XDURO, the Englishman ventures onto the most challenging trails, trying out new tricks and throwing down big jumps, once a rarity on electric mountain bikes. Very active on YouTube, he has also taken part in various FMB World Tour events.
Andi Wittman
Considered one of the world's top dirt bike riders, and record-holder in the high jump with 5.60 m, Andi discovered electric bikes after a serious fall. Determined to regain his full abilities, the German initially used the VAE as a simple "moral support" before definitively adopting it as his daily training partner.
Maximilian Semsch
An insatiable adventurer, Maximilian embarked on a complete tour of Australia in 2012 - a total of 16,000 km - having already reached Singapore from Munich a few years earlier. This time, however, he opted for an electric bike and completed his journey in 187 days, successfully overcoming all the difficulties. Today, he continues to explore new horizons, always accompanied by his Haibike.
