INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

AT THE HEART OF THE NEW MATRA 2016 COLLECTION

NuVinci

The revolutionary NuVinci® drivetrain system enables a relaxed ride thanks to a smooth progression from one gear ratio to the next. NuVinci® technology means less concentration on running the bike and more on what's important! For example, the traffic or the beauty of the environment. Continuously variable planetary gearing is the foundation of NuVinci® technology that easily adapts to your needs as a cyclist; whether you're waiting at a red light or forcing against a headwind you'll always have the best gear ratio selected thanks to NuVinci Optimized™ components No more shifting gears, squeaky pedaling or pedaling in a vacuum, just enjoy the smooth ride. You've got to try it!

The Harmony system adds an extra element of comfort to continuously variable transmission technology. This is because the Harmony system offers continuous, automatic shifting for those who prefer not to worry about gear changes at all. You set your preferred cadence, and the transmission is automatically controlled so you can always pedal at the same pace, even up or down a hill. The gear ratio is always at the optimum setting, which also increases the battery life of your electric bike.
The H8 controller of the Harmony 380 system fitted to the Matra i-Flow confort auto lets you adjust the cadence yourself, thanks to the controller's impressive LED display (always with smooth shifting, of course). If you want to take over, you can deactivate the automatic changeover at the touch of a button.

TranzX

Matra has opted for quality in its motorization by selecting TranzX, a benchmark brand in the electric bike market. TranzX is a brand of the JD Group:

- Manufacturer of finished products in the mobility sector
- Specialist in the supply of bicycle components
- Over 20 years of recognized experience in this sector
- More than 4000 employees worldwide

By choosing the best technical/price ratio for its powertrains, Matra can offer you a wide range of innovative, high-performance, yet affordable engines. Here is a presentation of the different engines selected:

M01 250 W

The first motor in the TranzX range combines solidity and efficiency, and will take you wherever you want to go without any particular effort, thanks to its rotation sensor which allows you to call on the best assistance from the start of your first pedal stroke.

Features :

Technology: Brushless geared
Maximum speed: 25km/hr
Rated/Maximum torque: 14.5-40 Nm (maximum torque available from start-up)
Quiet: < 69 dB
36V front- or rear-mounted

M25 250 W

Also a central motor, the M25 is the first motor in the TranzX range to combine rotation and torque sensors. This means it delivers power progressively according to your needs, without forgetting you at start-up. Its powerful torque enables it to satisfy your every desire, while remaining very discreet. The M25 also requires very little battery power, thanks to its energy optimization system. Last but not least, it is equipped with a speed sensor to calculate the energy required at any given moment.

Features :

Technology: Brushless gear
Maximum speed: 25km/h
Rated/Maximum torque: 22-60 Nm
Maximum torque: depending on your pedaling effort + start-up assistance
Quiet: < 67 dB
36V central mounting

E-POWERED BY BOSCH

Matra's i-Flow Confort, i-Step and i-Force ranges are equipped with high-performance Bosch motors - the key element of the system!

Centrally positioned, it takes advantage of the gearshift system to develop its exceptional performance. As its rotation speed is linked to the pedaling cadence, if the user changes gears wisely, the motor is much more often in its optimum performance range. That's why the range is so long, without the need for an oversized battery, and it's also what makes it so easy to climb hills of over 20%!

The 4 levels of assistance are proportional to the cyclist's action, ranging from 40% to 300% of the effort provided. The system, based on automotive logic, tells the user when to change gear. This assistance will therefore be optimal when the user is in the right pedaling cadence range allowed by the mechanical gear change". The system's responsiveness is based on a processor that calculates 1000 times per second.

Another significant advantage is that the wheels are identical to those on a standard bicycle, and can therefore be easily dismantled, unlike a hub-and-spoke wheel. There are no cables to disconnect, no sensors to recalibrate when removed from the bike.

Here, in a few lines, is a summary of its features and qualities:

- Maximum motor torque: 60
- Central motor weighing less than 4kg
- Effort transmitted to the wheel using the gearshift system, providing autonomy and cross-country capability
- Automotive technology, reliability, performance and optimum efficiency
- Low center of gravity does not destabilize the bike
- Compact, robust and splash-proof, with protective housing against stone splashing
- 3 integrated sensors (effort, rotation, speed)
