WTB – A pioneer in MTB equipment

The WTB brand (Wilderness Trail Bikes) was founded in 1982 in California (USA), almost at the same time as the MTB discipline itself. The first mountain bikes were crafted by hand by adventurers who wanted to ride the trails of Mount Tamalpais. WTB, which was in contact with and listened to these early MTB enthusiasts, became one of the first brands to develop components specifically designed for this discipline. It was also the pioneer of the 29-inch wheel by manufacturing its Nano Raptor model. The very first MTB tyre of its kind. Since then, the American company has expanded its range and offers products suited to off-road disciplines such as Trail, theAll Mountain and the Gravel.

WTB – Bike tyres for adventure

The brand likes to anticipate trends and it is no surprise to see it heavily involved in the world of Gravel and Bikepacking. In 2016, it launched the Road Plus, a 650b tyre with a section ranging from 42 to 47mm, whose outer diameter is close to a 700C. WTB also offers tyres for both of these wheel sizes (700C and 650b). Tubeless is also part of the range and is called TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) instead of Tubeless Ready. The Horizon is the most rolling model for routes mostly made up of paved segments. The Byway is a semi-slick tyre designed for long-distance rides. Finally, the Riddler is highly versatile while the Resolute is the most knobby in the category gravel tyres from the manufacturer.
