❓1. Organic pad or metallic pad?

Your choice depends above all on the conditions.

If you do lightweight XC, go for the silence and the modulation on dry ground => Organic (Resin).

If you doEnduro/DH or often ride in the rain/mud, go for the heat resistance and the durability => Metallic (Sintered).

If you are looking for a compromise => Semi-Metallic.

❓2.What is the exact reference of my brake calliper to ensure compatibility?

You must know the brand and exact model of your calliper (e.g. Shimano Saint M820, SRAM Code R, Magura MT7, etc.).
Always check the reference of your calliper (often engraved on it) and buy pads specifically designed for that reference.

Many brands offer equivalences.

❓3. Are my discs compatible with metallic pads?

Check: Some entry-level discs are designed for organic (resin) pads only. Look for the mention "Resin Pad Only" or the equivalent on your disc.

Consequence: If your disc is compatible with both, you have the choice. If not, you MUST limit yourself to the pads Organic.

❓4. Is it necessary to bed in new brake pads?

ABSOLUTELY. Bedding-in is crucial. It allows the pad material to be transferred evenly onto the disc, ensuring maximum braking power and preventing noise.
