Description

The HUTCHINSON Griffus tyre is entirely dedicated to committed riding disciplines, and will perform at its best on dry and rocky terrain.

The French brand has chosen the Race Ripost Gravity tri-compound, ensuring both precise handling and braking control thanks to a directional profile and aggressive side knobs. The renowned Hardskin reinforcement provides unbeatable strength against tears, and the 66 TPI casing tackles the most demanding terrain with ease and lightness.

Hutchinson's enduro riders, who developed this tyre according to their own needs, recommend fitting a 2.50 at the front paired with a 2.40 at the rear, which will ensure cornering stability and pedalling efficiency. DH riders, meanwhile, will be fully satisfied by the aggressiveness delivered by a 2.50 front and rear setup. Compatible with inner tubes, this large-volume tyre will make the most of its capabilities when mounted Tubeless and slightly under-inflated.

Great grip but a little too fragile

"Rear mounted tire. Perfect mounting, no worries. Great look! Very good lateral grip and traction on dry or wet rocky terrain. Of course, it's not very rolling (I used to ride a 2.35 Taïpan) but you get used to it. The rubber is quite soft, so wear is fairly rapid, especially as soon as you hit the rocks, and even when riding "clean" without abusing skids. There's a certain fragility to tears on the sidewalls (they scratch easily), and I had a pinch without even feeling the slightest impact on the rim. Since then, I've put slicy foam on them, and they're no longer a problem."
