Description

Inspired by the Ikon, the MAXXIS Rekon tyre 29x2.25 Exo 3C MaxxSpeed Tubeless Ready folding bead is, like it, designed for competition Cross-Country, but it is designed for highly technical terrain requiring more grip and control. Taller, its knobs are also larger and fewer than those of the Ikon.

With a supple 120 tpi casing, this version features the 3C MaxxSpeed triple compound blend, which promotes rolling efficiency. Three types of rubber are combined: a hard base layer and two softer rubbers on the surface, particularly on the sides, to better ensure the grip of the side knobs.

In this Tubeless Ready version, which can be fitted with or without an inner tube, this tyre also features Exo reinforcement on the sidewalls, providing additional protection against abrasion and cuts.

Good all-round tire

"Good all-round tire. A little fragile for committed mountain trails. Lacks a little grip in wet conditions."

Grosjule08 (4/5)

Good yield but fragile...

"Good performance and light, but too fragile for marathon mountain running. It's a racing tire on terrain with few stones! 3 rear punctures in 2 months is a lot!"

Pascalovic (3/5)

"Super grip while maintaining very good performance".

Armadillo (5/5)

Good tire

"Very good tire, used in rear mount with the same front in 2. 4 it is perfect for all terrains. A super all-rounder that doesn't bridle performance and efficiency."

Sylvain (5/5)

Good mixed terrain tire for XC

"Easy mounting, excellent grip on mixed/soft terrain (up to not too muddy) - average break-in on greasy terrain - excellent performance on dry/mixed terrain - But I think I prefer the Ikon 2. 35s I have on my semi-rigid, a bigger one so better in the brittle and ultimately just as good in mixed use."
