"For my needs, the Shimano XT brakes are the best."
"I bought this kit after a leak on an XT-8000 caliper (this model is no longer available; it has been replaced by the new 8100 series). I notice that the XT series is evolving gradually (double-sided lever mount; the old single-sided version lacked a bit of rigidity), on the caliper the hose connection now runs internally (toward the wheel) AND the lever mount rotates 180° (I-Spec II vs. I-Spec EV?), with the screw going over the top... BUT I’m still trying to figure out how to mount the shifter (8000 series – 11-speed) on the new lever. I’m afraid it might not be compatible. If that turns out to be the case, this incompatibility between Shimano’s “XT” generations is really stupid, especially since the 8100 series shifter only comes in 12-speed! It’s a shame because if you have to “upgrade” the entire bike whenever a single part is defective, it’s basically disposable.
"Brakes work great, fast delivery. Good brand"
"The Shimano shifters have a new design and, unfortunately, aren't compatible with the SLX shifters already on the bike. Too bad—that's €300 down the drain..."
"The best. SRAM still has some work to do before it catches up. Personally, I've switched to SRAM front and rear."
"A high-performance brake that's easy to install. I have it on my electric mountain bike. It makes me feel safe."
"Really impressed. The perfect kit for routing the hose internally."
"Installed on the rear to complement a 4-piston XT on the front, it’s powerful and responsive (installed as a replacement for an MT400). Much more ergonomic 2-finger lever. It performs consistently even on challenging XC descents. Probikeshop is top-notch."
"There's no significant difference in performance compared to the older XT M8000 models. However, the cable routing to the rear caliper is now better integrated with the frame (running seamlessly along it), making it both more aesthetically pleasing and more functional." I recommend this product, even though, as with the older models, I would have liked a bit more bite."
