The TOPEAK ChuckHead DX Upgrade Kit is a high-performance inflator designed to solve the problem of hard-to-reach valves. Its ultra-thin head and 90° elbow connection make it easy to connect to Presta valves, even in the tight spaces of "stick" wheels or very deep-profile road rims.
Unlike conventional pump heads that require a cumbersome side lever, the ChuckHead DX uses a threaded or axial pressure locking system (depending on mounting) that guarantees a perfect seal with no air leakage, even at pressures in excess of 11 bar (160 psi).
Does it work on Schrader valves (large valves)? No, the ChuckHead DX is a specific technical part optimized for Presta valves. For full compatibility, consider the SmartHead or TwinHead kits.
Is it compatible with valve extenders? Absolutely. In fact, that's its main use. It adapts perfectly to valve extenders used on 50mm, 60mm or 80mm carbon rims.
Does the head screw onto the valve? No. The DX system uses an internal compression mechanism that firmly grips the Presta valve thread to prevent air loss during pumping.
Can I install it on another brand of pump (e.g. Zéfal, Lezyne, JoeBlow)? Yes, thanks to the connection adapters supplied, this kit is designed to be "universal" and give new life to a pump whose original head is faulty or unsuitable.
