The inner tube Vee Tire Co. 18" is a reliable component designed specifically for 18-inch diameter wheel configurations. In its narrow 18" x 1" section, it primarily targets the lightweight cockpits of young BMX Race competitors (generally on Micro-Mini or Mini size bikes fitted with narrow rims and tyres).

What type of valve does this model use? This model is generally fitted with a valve suited to competition BMX rims (check final compatibility with the rim, as narrow racing wheels very often use the small Presta valve standard).

Is it compatible with an 18" x 1.35 or 18" x 1.50 tyre? No. This version is calibrated specifically for a 1" (narrow) section. If you fit it in a significantly wider tyre, the inner tube will have to stretch excessively, which will thin its walls and considerably increase the risk of blowout or pinch flat. Always use a tube whose section range matches the width of your tyre.

How do you avoid pinching the tube during installation? Before placing the inner tube in the tyre, inflate it very slightly so it takes on its round shape. Then insert it into the tyre, and fit the tyre beads onto the rim by hand (avoid metal tyre levers as much as possible for the final fitting, to avoid puncturing the butyl).
